Spring Estate Agents BBC TV Debut.

Following on from Spring Estate Agents interview on Radio One Newsbeat. Once again the Hull based estate agents are in the national media promoting the cities positive regeneration plans.

Spring estate agents were called upon to help make a short video based on Hull property prices and the cities positive regeneration. The video was filmed by BBC Oxford as part of their changing UK series.

Changing UK investigated how life in Britain has changed over the past 40 years and their findings show that a typical house in Oxford now costs around £280,000 which is about double the Hull average. The question they wanted to know was. Does that mean there is an equally big difference in the quality of live?

The overall message from the video was very positive and helped highlight some of the exciting regeneration projects. Spring estate agents managing director Govind Manocha said "We are extremely pleased to have been given this opportunity to help showcase our city in a positive light and as a company we continue to help support the regeneration efforts".

Newington & St Andrew's Area Action Plan

The plans to regenerate Newington & St Andrew's are now in the final stages of preparation!

Based on Anlaby Road, Spring Estate Agents are located right on the edge of the area the plan aims to transform with over 4,000 new & refurbished homes, proposals for new parks, open spaces & public squares, revitalised shopping areas & a potential new secondary school.

The plan takes into account the comments made by hundreds of residents & stakeholders who have, like Spring Estate Agents, attended meetings & events or put their views in writing during the previous rounds of consultation.

Spring Estate Agents continues to be at the heart of the regeneration & are very enthusiastic about what changes are proposed over the next 10-15 years.

Now the final stage of consultation has arrived, which runs from 27th October to 8th December 2008.

Sailors Familes Society Sportsman's Lunch.

On Friday the 3rd of October Spring Estate Agents where invited by Williamsons Solicitors to attend the Sailors' Families' Society Sportsman's Lunch at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Willerby.

This annal event was generously sponsored by Williamsons Solicitors and the guest speaker, Mr Ian Robertson, BBC rugby correspondent, was sponsored by NatWest.

The Sailors Family Society’s purpose is to help Seafarers children who are in full-time education and the families are in severe financial difficulties. The majority of the families we support are single parent. However we do support two parent families where one of the parents is too ill or disabled to work and the other acts as the carer. The Society currently supports over 450 children whose families have served in the fishing fleets or the Royal or Merchant Navies.

The event was very well supported by over 400 local business people and they all enjoyed an excellent three course meal, which was followed by guest speaker, Mr Ian Robertson and the hilarious charity auction & raffle. In total the event raised over £20,000 for the society and a fantastic afternoon was had by all.

Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI)

Spring Estate Agents meets with Hilary Byers the co-ordinator of the West Hull Townscape Heritage Initiative. The THI provides grants for the repair and regeneration of historic properties within towns and cities throughout the UK.

• The £2 million project will allocate funding to conservation projects in the Boulevard and Coltman Street areas.

• It is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Gateway, the Hull and East Riding housing market renewal partnership. It will be delivered by Hull City Council and Hull City venture.

• The key objective is to encourage and support heritage-led regeneration through the highest standards of conservation and design in the area. By improving the environment, the scheme will support Gateway's aims to create a neighbourhood where people choose to live.

THI grants will be available for three main categories of work; building repairs, reinstatement of architectural detail and bringing vacant historic floor space back into use. Four critical projects have been identified in the Newington and St Andrew's area. These are:

• 156-158 Hessle Road
• The City Temple
• 114 Coltman Street
• Western Library, Boulevard

Spring attends Newington & St Andrew's Area Action Plan & Amy Johnson Site Design Workshop

Spring Estate Agents had the pleasure of being invited to the KC Stadium by the Hull City Council, Gateway & Keepmoat Plc for their presentation of the Newington & St Andrew's Regeneration Action Plan.

This event was the first in a series to be held over the coming months designed to keep us engaged in the development of the Area Action Plan. All the comments that were received throughout the day are now being carefully considered for the next version of the plan called the Submission Draft which we will have the ability to comment on when completed in the Autumn.

After a very interesting day it must be said we are even more excited about the future of the area in which we are growing our business.

The guest speaker for the seminar was Robert Craven described by the Financial Times as the "Entrepreneurship Guru" who has wrote books including Bright Marketing and Kick-Start Your Business.

Today marks the start of Hull's Business Week 2008 and Spring Estate Agents were up bright & earlier at the KC Stadium to attend the Bondholder's Breakfast which kicked of the rest of the weeks proceedings.

The breakfast was a fantastic opportunity for us to network with some of the other influential business people from the area, also some fun was had watching the "Are you smarter than a CEO?" quiz which played a team of local CEO's against a group of students from Hymers College.

Hull City FC

This weekend saw Hull City FC secure their place in the Premier League with their 1-0 victory over Bristol City. The team’s win also means they have won the richest single match in world football, estimated to be worth £60 million.

Hessle Road Network

The Hessle Road Network is a community-led organisation that was formed to enable local residents to actively participate in regeneration issues in their area. As a local business already involved in Hull’s regeneration projects Spring Estate Agents Ltd have recently been in talks with the charity to see how we can be of help and in turn form a close working relationship.
The Hessle Road Network currently has two areas of activity; The Youth Project and the Health & Social Care Project. As these projects are based in the Hessle Road area of Hull including Newington & St Andrews which is included in the proposed regeneration, therefore, we hope to be able to offer support with the improvement of the housing market in that area.
